This is an original Australian sales award for AC/DC’s album Let There Be Rock. Measuring approximately 20.25" x 16.25", the award was presented to drummer Phil Rudd by EMI Records Australia in January 1981. The award features a silver-toned record with the classic Albert Productions label, mounted above a uniquely shaped plaque in the outline of Australia. The inscription reads: “Presented to Phil Rudd for sales in excess of 20,000 units by EMI Records Australia, January 1981.” This rare piece represents the band’s success in their home country and stands as a personal recognition to a key member of AC/DC during their rise to international fame.
