This is an original “file copy” letter dated January 31, 1980, issued by Stu Ginsburg from the publicity department at Atlantic Records. Sent to Peter Mensch of Leber-Krebs management, the memo informs him of an upcoming call from Billboard Magazine’s London correspondent. The intent was to interview Mensch for a feature on AC/DC’s booming European success, with mentions of touring plans and upcoming album releases. Notably, the letter also indicates that a photo of the band receiving their Gold records would be featured in the international section of Billboard’s next issue. A rare and fascinating industry communication from a key moment in the band’s rise to global stardom.
