Abraham Lincoln original hand written letter with original hand signed engraving. Includes note on paper measuring 3" height x 3 1/4" width (7.6cm x 8.2cm). Letter states 'Allow this man to take the oath of Dec. 8, 1863 and be discharged'. Letter dated Nov. 12, 1864. The letter is in reference to 'The Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction' enacted during the civil war for people who have defected from the Northern Alliance. Note written during war time. Engraving depicts a profile of Abraham Lincoln and is hand signed by the engraver 'Engraved in pure mezzotint & printed in color Frederick Reynolds'. Includes authentication of signature.
