The empty cicada shell resting on a partially curved leaf, the back split from its escape and the front legs hooked under the leaf on either side and pulling it up as it held on during the effort, stained a warm chocolate brown color and smoothly polished, the himotoshi are carved under the stem that is curled underneath.
