The recessed eyes are cut through, the back is rough-hewn and the crossbar is wider than usually seen on mask netsuke, no doubt to accommodate the. Signed in ukibori on the crossbar in a sunken rectangular reserve, Tadatoshi. A similar model illustrated in Bushell's Netsuke Masks (Fig. 224) 1 5/8in (4.2cm).
