A well carved Italian parquetry and marquetry decorated secretaire by A. Monoury. Drop front, bombe sides, parquetry inlaid in sunburst patterns and marquetry inlaid on several medallions with various Aesop's Fables. Interior with pull out writing surface enclosing a secret compartment and three small drawers. Raised on long cabriole legs, mounted with gilt bronze chutes and sabots. 32 1/2" wide, 21" deep, 39" high. Exceptional quality. Signed in several places. 15000-20000
