1 Large early 20th century Buffalo horn and sterling example. This scarce and unusual button from the collection of the late Pauline Lum of California is made of Buffalo horn and Sterling silver. The note Pauline has on her card reads "Prof. Cassidy.-Java-1950 Buffalo Horn (Sterling_Djokia Handmade". We are assuming that Professor Cassidy purchased this button in 1950. Tin Dang says the sterling silver escutcheon depicts a Lotus flower that is a symbol of the Hindu or Buddhist. The word Djokia is a made up word that actually translates from Sanskrit from the India term from the Buddhist or Hindu as they have the same root. A very cool example.

Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918
Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above
