A very rare Lage format ARMY BILL from the WAR of 1812-1815. 'THE CHARLTON PLATE'. An ARMY BILL from Quebec Issue of 1814, $25. No. 69529. PMG VG-8 NET. The Bill reads: 'ARMY Bill Office Quebec, Issued 2sd March 1814. The Bearer hereof is entitled to receive, on DEMAND at the ARMY BILL OFFICE, the sum of Twnty-five dollars, in Government Bills of Exchange at Thirty days Sight, at the Rate of Exchange as fixed by Authority, or in Cash, at the opinion of the Commander of the Forces, with the Interest of ONE Farthing per Day, on the same. By Command of His Excellency, The Commander of the Forces. Signed by Louis Montizambert. Fine condition, with a few tears, and thin tear line in the middle of the note. As pictured in 2010 Charlton book, page 4. Most known Army Bills are the small format type from the 1814 issue. Other than notes in institutions, like the National Currency Collection, We have recorded only two other examples. Of the highest rarity! Worth a premium bid.
