A tiny WORKSPLATE “R & W Hawthorn Leslie & Co Ltd Engineers 3401-1920 Newcastle-on-Tyne”. As carried by the Taff Vale Railway Class A 0-6-2T, TVR 400, built at a cost of £8,818. She became GWR property on 1st January 1922 becoming “GWR 386”. Initially allocated to Cathays then Penarth, she was rebuilt in 1926 and moved to Barry in 1927 spending a long period successfully working passenger trains between Barry and Cardiff. She moved finally to Abercynon in 1950 and was withdrawn on 27th April 1956 after running 857,164 miles in service. She was cut up at Swindon by 16th June. Oval cast brass, only 5¾”x3¾”, lightly restored. Supplied with a polished wood mount.
