A single barrel .450 falling block sporting rifle, by W.W. Greener, London, the blued action with case hardened under lever and breech block, signed W.W.Greener in gold on both side plates, and on the breech, double gold lines on the side plates and breech tang. Walnut half stock horn tipped chequered forend and pistol grip, the butt plate trap engraved with VR surmounted by a crown, the plate engraved Sir Edwin Landseer. 27in. barrel Greener"s records confirm that this rifle serial no.014996, was built in 1905. Sir Edwin Landseer died in 1873, it is possible that the butt plate is from another rifle Requires current UK firearms certificate £1,000-2,000 See Illustration.
