A rosewood writing desk, by Senior and Carmichael the rectangular moulded top with inset leather skiver above central drawer and kneehole flanked by two banks of two drawers each with yew veneered panels and fan carved handles, the whole raised on square section splayed legs with curved bracket supports inlaid with fan paterae, also a matching armchair (2) 140cm wide, 76cm high, 69cm deep Rupert Senior and Charles Wheeler-Carmichael trained at John Makepiece's school at Parnham. They subsequently shared a workshop with David Linley; a contemporary at Parnham. They now design and make furniture from their workshops at Betchworth in Surrey and have exhibited widely, including at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York David Linley Extraordinary Furniture London 1996 pp140-141. £1000-1500
