A plafonnier M 7/18, designed in 1926 by Richard Winkelmayer, manufactured by the Metallfabrik Walter & Wagner, Schleiz in collaboration with the Weimar Bau- und Wohnungskunst G.m.b.H., Weimar, around 1930, marketed by the Weimar Bau- und Wohnungskunst G.m.b.H., formerly Vertriebsorganisation der staatlichen Bauhochschule Weimar, matted white lacquered plywood panel, matted nickel plated brass holder, globular matted milk glass shade, light fixutre, plywood panel: diametre 28 cm, strength 19 mm; glass shade: diametre 18 cm; holder: diametre 8 cm, height 3.8 cm. Good original condition with traces of wear, the plywood panel with residues of ceiling paint; original milk glass shades (matted both inside and outside). This chandelier is the smaller variant of two models marketed as M 7/18. Provenance: From the residence of Heinz Nösselt in the artists' colony of "Südwestkorso 47" in Berlin. Nösselt moved there in 1936. The appartment was equipped with two M 7/18 chandeliers (one in the hall and one in the kitchen). Heinz Nösselt was a student at the Bauhaus in Weimar and later worked as an architect (also for Gropius).
