A piece of "trench art" from WW2, having a large caliber shell on top as handle, and ferrule the remainder of this 12-inch brass shell. The shaft is light island wood, cut- away to reveal an "Easter-Island"- like totem, and facing it a long wooden twisting snake with green glass eyes. Ink writing along the shaft probably information concerning the maker and where he was, now illegible. Handle is 7/8" in diameter, L: 35.75 in/ 89.5 cm. View Item Est. - $800-$1000
