A patent kitchen cabinet, designed and manufactured by Erdö, Vienna, around 1930,
ivory lacquered softwood (restored), nickel plated iron mounts, lathe-turned wooden handles, height 185 cm, width 130 cm, depth 47 cm.
This kitchen cabinet was developed according to the concepts of hygiene and space utilization prevailing in those days and underlines the "workshop atmosphere" of the modern kitchen. It is perfectly conceived to the last detail and very economical with regard to space: folding and fall-front cabinet doors, a tipping and rotating drawer container, a swivelling bread drawer and an extensible work bench. In its intention, the Erdö "Patent Kitchen Cabinet" is related to the Frankfurt Kitchen, featuring even more interesting details than the latter.
