A pair of stacking chairs, designed in 1934 by Gustav Hassenpflug, manufactured around 1940/45 by Embru, Rüti/ Zurich, Switzerland as Model 1257 (without armrests) and Model 1258 (with armrests), aluminium tubes, the seats and backrests of nature-coloured plywood beech, the beechwood armrests covered with colourless varnish, felt, synthetic material, aluminium rivets, Model 1257: height 80 cm, depth 53 cm, width 42.5 cm, height of seat 45 cm, Model 1258: height 80 cm, depth 53 cm, width 57.5 cm, height of seat 45 cm. Tube diamtere 24 mm, rivetted seats and backrests. Very good original condition with slight traces of wear. There was also a version made of chromium plated tubular steel and a lacquered version.
