A pair of high quality French Flintlock High Art Holster size Pistols, locks are inscribed “ VERGNER a MARSEILLE” . The pistols measure 19” overall with 12-1/2” barrels, approx 62 cal smooth bore. The locks arechiseled with engraved borders and the barrels are also lightly engraved. The mounts are hallmarked silver and cast in high relief. The stocks are silver wire and plaque inlayed. The plaques are nicely handengraved, the largest plaque at the wrist shows a fan of what may be tobacco leaves and were thought to be an Egyptian crest. The metal is in good condition, showing a light rust. The stock shows some small losses and a light coating of varnish. A superior pair of European Arms made for trade and we would date them about 1800-1830. Est.; $4,000-$8,000

Buyer pays actual costs of packing, materials, shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
