Dimensions: ca. 28 x 10.7 10.7 cm (height x width x depth)
Provenance: Collection Andora, Germany

This is a pair of original gloves of a Soviet Sokol KV-2 (hawk) pressure space suit. It is crafted of white fireproof nylon fabric with rubberized glove and black leather palms. There is a white horizontal velcro below the palm. Inside is a stiff rubber ‘accordion’ wrist. At the lower end is still the original aluminum ring in place to bolt the glove to the arm of the Sokol KV-2 space suit. The Sokol space suit was worn by all cosmonauts on board of the Soyuz spaceship at launch, landing and docking maneuvers. It came into use for the first time in 1973 on a flight to the Russian space station MIR and is until today in use by the Russian aeronautics.

The gloves are numbered ‚?? -7-II ?-II 50462‘ and each of them has dimension of ca. 28 x 10.7 x 10.7 cm. They are in good condition with traces of age and wear. The rubber of the left glove shows visible signs of age.
