A massive example of a Caucasian kindjal with a one piece horn grip. The long, broad, double-edged blade has two fullers running down each side and is struck with maker’s marks on both sides. Blade also has silver inlayed decorationand writing including a date 1127 which translates to 1715. Leather covered scabbard with iron mounts. The top mount is struck with the same maker’s mark as the blade. Early 18thcentury. Good condition, worn handle, toning and somepitting at base of blade and on bosses on handle. Blade measures 18” long and 2 ¾” wide. Measures 24 ½” overall. Est.: $800-$900.
