A lot of faience offering jars, Dynasty 26-30, c. 664 - 343BC, the first with cylindrical body, flat base and flared mouth. Intact the green glaze now a pale color. H: 1 5/8 in (6.7 cm). The second piece if a group of four faience offering jars glazed together on a rectangular base, each with a raised lip. 2 ¼ in x 2 3/8 in x 1 3/8 in. Two of the vessels have been reattached to the base, glaze now a pale green. Ex Orange County private collection. The ancient Egyptian tomb often had a nearby chapel where the family or friends of the deceased could come to pay respects and leave offerings, often in terracotta or faience jars such as this example.
