A large carved and painted ship's figurehead believed to have been removed from a tea clipper and previously on "The Lady of the Lake", Rudyard, near Leek. The Lady of the Lake is a Victorian wet boathouse built in solid stone in the middle of Rudyard Lake and approached over a long jetty. It is named because the figurehead used to stand in the niche between the chimneys. The area is known to have been a favourite haunt of the parents of Rudyard Kipling, who so loved the area that they named their son after it. Height 2.12 mtrs approx
