A large Moro kris from the southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines. Probably Maguindanao work with an intricate filigree handle and large ivory junggayan pommel. This type of kris would typically be carried by a Datu or noble. Large,wavy, pattern welded blade. Engraved brass mounts on scabbard. Late 19th-early 20th century. Good condition, minor pitting and scratches to blade. Measures 28” overall. Est.: $500-$600.
