A large Derby 'Long Tom' vase, painted and gilt overall in chinoiserie style in a bright spring palette with a figure seated in a fenced garden, another standing beneath a parasol, enclosed by large peony and other blooms, peacock, birds in flight and on branches, the vertically fluted neck and base enamelled with florets and gilt with strapwork on alternate celadon and terracotta grounds, the parcel-gilt angular loop handles and shoulders with husks and scale ornament, 30.5in high, unmarked, c.1825 (The Property of the late Anthony Hoyte) Literature: J.
