A large Austrian porcelain art nouveau figural jardiniere having an oval shaped art nouveau body decorated with female masks with flowers in their long flowing hair having sinuous style decoration leading to flower heads and with raised gilt floral decoration all flanked by two art nouveau maidens holding bunches of roses in turn above the stylised base all against a light beige ground heightened with gilding, with printed mark to the underside for Ernst Wahliss, numbered 1365 and inscribed "T136". Extreme width 19ins., height 12.5ins. (see illustration)
