A lacquered wood netsuke of coins.
Late 18th century. Lying discarded with a rusty buckle, the coins are two sendai and a kwanei of recognizable type, the lacquer producing a remarkably realistic imitation of old metal, the wood is delicately carved and the cord attachment is by the buckle.
