A group of two  ivory netsuke.
Attributed to Ryuchin Gyokuhosai, Tokyo, Mid/late 19th century. , Mid/late 19th century. The first, ryusa manju of musical instruments including samisen, biwa, sho, recorder, tsuzumi, and others. Signed on the side, Gyokuhosai, using the 8 stroke form of ho. 1?in (4cm). The second, a group of six pomegranates attached to a branch, a ladybug sits on one of them, and three of them are carved with inside scenes of famous places and their names above in Kana. Signed on underside with 3 characters. 1?in (3.8cm). Provenance: The second, Sotheby's, London, April 21, 1971; Lot 120.
