A group of two ivory netsuke of oni.
19th century. The first, an oni in the guise of a flying tennin, his lower extremity tapering to a curl that meets with his robes that flow over his back. He supports himself on his elbows and his head is turned to the right and rests upon his hands. 1 3/4in (4.4cm). The second, an oni holding a large sheathed sword, while standing on the brim of a large Mongolian hat, the underside is open and shows the tasseled chin strap tied in a large bow. 1 1/4in (3.1cm).
