A group of three netsuke, various materials.
The first, mid 19th century, a wood large mouthed goldfish with bulbous eyes of inlaid ivory and horn, the cord-hole formed through the mouth. 3 1/4in (8.2cm). The second, early 20th century, a cicada shell on a section of pine bark completely stained a dark tea color. 2 1/4in (5.8cm). The third, mid 19th century, an ivory manju of an Octopus on a platter with a wood collar. 1 3/4in (4.5cm). The first, Exhibited: Delgado Museum, New Orleans, LA (March-April, 1960). The second, Exhibited: the Student Center (August 29 - September 25, 1960)
