Tokyo, Mid 19th century. , Mid 19th century. The first, by Mitsutoshi Koju, ivory depicting an Oshidori, smoothly polished to accentuate the grain of the ivory and lightly stained to a golden color. Signed on the underside. 1?in (3.7cm). The second, wood, nacre, and rattan, a Shibayama style hollow spherical piece, with an interior two-character seal. The outer surface is inlaid in mother-of-pearl in an interlocking pattern interrupted by woven rattan circles. Inscribed on the outside, Ichiyu?. 3?in (7.9cm). The third, attributed to Ipposai, manju incised with a portrayal of Kanshin (Han Sin), the reverse shows a pair of fisherman's creels. Signed in a rectangular reserve, Ipposai. 1in (2.7cm).
