A group of three netsuke of tigers.
Mid/late 18th century. The first, late 18th century, a wood tiger lying curled up with its grinning face in the center resting on its forepaws, its stripes and other details are boldly carved. 2 3/8in (6.1cm). The second, mid 19th century, an all wood kagamibuta showing a seated and snarling tiger inlaid in shibuichi, with well-chiseled with gold inlaid eyes. 1 1/2in (3.9cm). The third, an ivory tiger laying on a cross-section of bamboo, his tail curled over his back, the stripes carved as reserves free of hair-work. 2in (5.2cm).
