A group of three ivory netsuke.
Tokyo, Mid 19th century. , Mid 19th century. The first, attributed to Tadatane, Daikoku and a bearded Ebisu, Daikoku wields the pounder while Ebisu carries a sack of rice over his shoulder. The ivory is white on the front and nicely patinated on the back. Signed on Ebisu?s back in an irregular torpedo shaped reserve, Tadatane. 1?in (4.5cm). The second, by Ikkeisai Hogyoku, depicting a Sage, and tiger. Signed on the reverse, Ikkeisai Hogyoku, plus a kakihan, worn. 1?in (4.5cm). The third, attributed to Hidechika II, of Jurojin with a minogame (head missing) climbing over his shoulder. Signed in an irregular cartouche, Hidechika. 1?in (3.2cm).
