The first, late 18th century, in ivory, in the shape of a two-case inro, with cord channels on the sides and the lines that delineate the compartments. 1 3/4in (4.5cm). The second, 18th century, in ivory, Chinese toggle of a Shishi Lion or dragon. 1 5/8in (4.1cm). The third, early 19th century, in wood, a Shishi lion, from a Chinese shrine. 1 5/8in (4.1cm). The fourth, 17th/18th century, in mammoth ivory, manju shaped like a Chinese toggle with a serrated edge, the front showing four Chinese characters, the reverse with a curve in the appearance of a yang-yin symbol, and addition of two inlaid metal eyelets. 1 5/8in (4.2cm).
