Tokyo, Mid 20th century. The first, by Toshu, wood of a New Year's gift box of tangerines, The front bears an ivory plaque, "otoshidama". Signed in seal form in a square reserve on the back, Toshu. 1?in (3.1cm). The second, ivory of a child as Sambaso dancer. Inscribed on the underside, Tomokazu. 1?in (2.9cm). The third, ivory depicting a bespectacled man cutting his toenails. Inscribed Gyokuzen. 2in (5.2cm). The fourth, wood of a nude woman seated with her knees drawn up in front of her and her hands resting on her knees, her head is turned to the left. Inscribed on buttock, Masatomo. 1?in (4cm).
