A fine cased pair of French dueling/target percussion pistols, the brown Damascus barrels of double octagonal form, heavy set nipple housing, target sights, six grouve rifling, top of barrels engraved "C Benedict in Reval", the blued percussion locks with dolphin style hammers, walnut half stocked woodwork with checkered diamond pattern grips, case hardened butt caps and triggers, pistols are numbered 1 and 2 in gold filled engraving on the tangs, pistols are fitted into a mahogany veneered case with brass inlaid W M surmounted by a crown, the green baized lined close fitted interior complete with wooden mallet and steel wad punch, box revarnished and relined at some stage, pistols with most finish, one foresight missing, barrel length 25cm, 10 inches, overall length 40cm, 15 3/4 inches.
