1 Large 18th century Pearl-Steel-Copper example. We have had this button before in our auctions and it sold for over $1000. The beautiful chatoyant carved pearl base is set with an engraved 8 pointed copper star center set over a 16 pointed steel star all set on a multi bordered pierced pearl carved base with a large wide brass plate and heavy loop shank on the back. A very intricate and wonderful example of 18th century hand made craftsmanship. From the collection of the late Dorothy Peterson of Virginia and a member of the Martha Washington Button Club.
