A ZOOMORPHIC INDO-PERSIAN POWDER FLASK WITH SILVER DAMASCENE, 19TH C.
An Indo-Persian decorative powder flask of the 19th century, exquisitely damascened with silver foliate scrollwork throughout. The tapered neck of the flask ends in a stylized depiction of a tiger with red eyes and an open maw, its fangs and tongue being three dimensional. A chain is affixed from which one can hang it. The item appears to be purely for display.

L: 6 3/4 in., (17.1 cm.); D: 4 in., (10.2 cm.)

Very good overall. The silver is still bright with only a few small areas where it has been somewhat faded, and only minor oxidation in the mouth.
