A William IV mahogany marine barometer with sympiesometer having a turned finial above the circular pagoda top in turn above the bevelled glass enclosing the angled ivory scale from 27 to 31 and inscribed "H. Frodsham, Liverpool" with adjusting knob beneath and in turn above the sympiesometer behind a glazed panel and with lobed and carved decoration above the brass cistern cover with adjusting scale to left and right. According to Edward Banfield, Barometer Makers and Retailers, 1660 - 1900, Henry Frodsham was working between 1828 and 1851 at 38 Castle Street, Liverpool. Height 40ins. (see illustration)
