A William IV Irish mahogany table, stamped William & Gibton, the panelled gallery back and rectangular top above two short drawers with turned knop handles on ring turned tapered legs, height 93cm x width 112cm x depth 55cm, 37 inches x 44 inches x 21 1/2 inches. See Illustration. £2000-3000 Footnote:- The firm of Mack, Williams and Gibton was the leading firm of cabinet makers in the city of Dublin in the early 19th Century. In 1806 they were appointed upholsterers and cabinet makers to His Majesty. This table would date to between 1829-1844 when on the death of John Mack in 1829 the firm traded as William & Gibton. In 1844 William Gibton died and the firm traded as Williams & Sons ceasing business in 1952.
