A WORKSPLATE “Yorkshire Engine Co. Limited No. 326 Meadow-Hall Works 1881 Sheffield”. This large, rare pattern worksplate was carried by an 0-6-0ST with outside cylinders, Yorkshire Engine Type Cx, that emerged from Works in March 1881. It went new to Chatterley Whitfield Collieries Ltd named “POLLIE”. It was rebuilt by Yorkshire Engine in 1887 and 1896; received a new boiler in June 1931; was rebuilt again at the colliery in January 1942, and became NCB property at Chatterley Whitfield on 1st January 1947. It was out of use by 1963 and was eventually scrapped on site by GFM Co Ltd in late 1964. Oval cast brass, 12½”x7¼”, face-polished and repainted, slightly skimmed. Supplied with a polished wood plaque.
