A WORKSPLATE “Yorkshire Engine Co Limited No. 2272 Meadow-Hall Works 1930 Sheffield”. As carried by the GWR ‘5700 class’ 0-6-0PT 6748 built at Swindon in December 1930 under Lot 265. Initially a Stourbridge engine, she moved to Barry in 1939 where she spent most of the rest of her time being withdrawn on 20th January 1958 to be cut up at Swindon. Oval cast brass, 11”x6”, unrestored with ‘6748’ stamped into the back.
