A WORKSPLATE “The Hunslet Engine Co. Ltd Leeds 204 H.P. No. 5647-1960”. As carried by the British Railways 05 Class 204 H.P. 0-6-0 diesel mechanical locomotive D2598. It emerged to traffic at York on 30th June 1960, and was withdrawn from BR service on 30th December 1967. It was sold to the NCB’s Rossington Colliery, Doncaster on 17th May 1968 and named “SAM”. It moved to Askham Main Colliery in July 1971, then to the NCB’s N.E. Area in February 1975. It was cut up at Lambton Engine Works, Philadelphia in May 1975. Oval cast brass, 11¼”x8”, unrestored.
