A WORKSPLATE “Sharp Stewart & Co Limited Atlas Works 3466-1889 Glasgow”. As carried by the Barry Railway Class B 0-6-2T, Barry 18, that emerged from Works in May 1889 at a cost of £1,662. She became GWR property on 1st January 1922 as “GWR 212” and was allocated to Senghenydd. She moved to Barry in 1931, and Cardiff East Dock in 1947 from where she was withdrawn on 10th July 1948 after running 1,037,832 miles. She was cut up at Swindon. An impressive oval cast brass plate, 15¾”x8”, face-polished and repainted, the original back stamped “212”. Accompanied by a polished wood display-plaque.
