A WORKSPLATE "R & W Hawthorn Leslie & Co. Ltd 3704 Newcastle on Tyne 1929". As carried by the LNER Class N2 0-6-2T, 2675, built with condensing gear. It emerged to traffic in March 1929, becoming LNER 9581 Class N2 in July 1946. It was BR 69581 in March 1948, always a Kings Cross engine, and was withdrawn in December 1960 to be cut up in Doncaster Works in January 1961. Oval cast brass, 10"x6", face-polished and repainted only. Supplied with a polished wood display plaque.
