A WORKSPLATE "North British Locomotive Coy. Ltd No. 24831 Hyde Park Works Glasgow 1942". As carried by the 3'6" gauge Ministry of Supply 4-6-2 72815 going to Sudan Government Railways as No. 246. A successful 1927 design, the 220 Class was adopted as a wartime standard, other examples going elsewhere in Africa and to Australia. Notable for their pale blue livery, some survived into the late 1970's. Circular cast brass, 7 3/4" diameter, unrestored and quite a few dents as many plates from African locomotives seem to have.
