A WORKSPLATE "North British Locomotive Company Ltd. Glasgow. No. 25307. 1944". As carried by the Ministry of Supply 'Austerity' 2-8-0, 77449, that emerged from Works in March 1944 to go on War Department service in Belgium. It went on loan to the LNER in October 1947 and was purchased by BR in December 1948, renumbered 90311. Latterly a Mexborough and Canklow engine, it was withdrawn in August 1964 to be cut up by T.W. Ward of Killamarsh in November. Diamond white brass, 13 3/4"x5 1/2", polished and repainted, and supplied with a polished wood display plaque.
