A WORKSPLATE "New Zealand Government Railways No. 381. 1951 Built At Hillside Workshops". As carried by the NZR Class Ja 3'6" gauge 4-8-2 No. 1258. One of the last New Zealand designs for fast freight and passenger work, they were rated at over 60 m.p.h. on the narrow gauge. A number are preserved. Oval convex cast brass, 17 1/4"x11", face-polished and partially repainted.
