A WORKSPLATE “Dubs & Co. No. 3510 Glasgow Locomotive Works 1897”. As carried by the LSWR 700 Class 0-6-0, LSWR 687 (FIRST OF CLASS) that emerged from Works in March 1897. It was superheated in June 1923, becoming SR E687, then SR 687; then BR 30687. Designed by Drummond, these locomotives were used for freight work and light duties. 30687 was a longtime Feltham engine and was finally withdrawn in September 1960 to be cut up at Eastleigh Works in October. Diamond cast brass, 13½”x5½”, face-polished and repainted only.
