A WORKSPLATE "Avonside Engine Co. Ltd Engine No. 2013 Bristol. Built 1930". As carried by a 4-wheel 40 H.P. petrol mechanical locomotive built by Avonside possibly for demonstration purposes. At some date it went to Joseph Pugsley & Sons Ltd Bristol, then in November 1932 to E S & A Robinson Ltd, Keynsham Paper Mills, Bristol as their "No.1". About 1969 the firm became part of John Dickinson & Co. Ltd at Keynsham Paper Mills. It was scrapped about 1968. Oval cast brass, 10 3/4"x6 1/2", face-polished and repainted only. We sold the engraved brass "AVONSIDE" bonnet plate from this locomotive in our March 2002 Auction, Lot 325.
