A WORKS NUMBERPLATE “London & North Eastern Railway 60919 Darlington Works 1941”. As carried by the LNER V2 class 2-6-2, 4890, built at Darlington and emerging to traffic on 7th September 1941. It became LNER 919 from 22nd September 1946; 60919 from 1st October 1948. Latterly an Aberdeen Ferryhill, then Dundee Tay Bridge engine, it was withdrawn on 2nd September 1966 from there and cut up by Arnott Young of Old Kilpatrick. Oval cast brass, 9”x5”, in ex-loco condition.
