A WORKS NUMBERPLATE "London & North Eastern Railway 4515 Cowlairs Works 1910". As carried by the ex NBR Class B 0-6-0, NBR 56, built at Cowlairs in September 1910. Designed by Reid, this class was first introduced in 1906 and used mainly on freight trains. 56 became LNER 9056 Class J35/3 in 1924; was superheated in April 1935, was renumbered 4515 in March 1946, and became BR 64515 in December 1948. A longtime Edinburgh St. Margarets engine, it was withdrawn in November 1961 and cut up by Connels of Calder in January 1963. Oval cast-iron, 9"x5", in ex-loco condition, still retaining its original bolts.
