A WORKS NUMBERPLATE "London & North Eastern Railway 60955 Darlington Works 1942". As carried by the LNER V2 Class 2-6-2 that emerged to traffic on September 22nd 1942. It was LNER 3667; then 955 and finally BR 60955. A longtime Aberdeen Ferryhill engine, it moved to St Margarets in June 1964 and was withdrawn from there in November 1966 to be cut up by Campbells of Airdrie. Oval cast brass, 9"x5", unrestored.
